Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Research Collaborative Study.

  • The goal of the Vascular Ehlers-Danlos research collaborative study is to compile the most comprehensive record of vEDS patients in order to study the natural history of the condition and immediately answer pressing questions and foster future research.

  • Launched by Dr. Sherene Shalhub and Dr. Peter Byers

  • The first stage of the campaign is to enroll 1,000 patients with genetically confirmed vEDS.

  • As the study expands, UW Medicine and other researchers will use the information and patient participation to study vEDS and better understand the disease and improve treatment.
